Mission Statement: The School Counseling Program at Hayden High School works diligently to ensure that all students are afforded opportunities to develop their full potentials in a safe, positive learning environment. This task is carried out by designing a program that implements the American School Counselor Association's National Standards as outlined in the Comprehensive Counseling and Guidance Model for Alabama Public Schools. The counselors of HHS work as coordinators and follow a planned, sequential developmental curriculum to deliver data driven programs that ensure each student has equal opportunity to achieve academic success, explore career paths, and develop personally and socially. Our counselors encourage a school climate of child advocacy that strengthens school safety and student well-being.
Vision Statement: Hayden High School students will graduate with a strong foundation of personal worth and character, academic confidence and a growth mindset to meet their future career and college goals. These students will have acquired the 21st century skills necessary to be successful in their future endeavors. Students will be equipped and ready to navigate obstacles as they become productive members of our society and influence future generations. the counseling department will support and motivate these students as they are obtaining life-long skills to gain personal and career successes in the world. Counseling Program Beliefs: Hayden High School allows every student the opportunity to prepare socially, academically and emotionally for present and future challenges. The counseling program will work in collaborative partnerships with students, educators, parents and community stakeholders to empower students to reach their highest potential as productive members of society.
